Catherine Bourgeois is the Center Administrator for the RLE’s Center for Excitonics under the Director, Marc Baldo. She is responsible for the administration and fiscal processes within the center including but not limited to the program’s annual reports, execution of personnel appointments, budget projections and cost analyses, external and internal meetings, annual reviews, seminars, and website content. From 2009 – 2012, she was the Senior Financial Assistant for the center and was promoted to Center Administrator in June 2012. Catherine is also the Training Coordinator for RLE’s Administrative Assistant’s training program since June 2012. In this role, she helps in the development and delivery of training materials and presentations related to best practices for RLE administrative assistants. She also mentors assistants who need to improve their proficiencies with MIT’s and RLE’s fiscal procedures.
Catherine’s career at MIT started in May of 2001 in RLE as an administrative assistant. Taking advantage of MIT’s tuition reimbursement program, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Emmanuel College in 2006. She’s been a member of the Working Group for Support Staff Issues (WGSSI) since 2006 and served on the Working Green and Membership committees. In 2009, she received an Infinite Mile award.
